Harmony Play Therapy

I'm a Masters Trained Play Therapist here to support children with big emotions and big behaviours through the power of therapy using play.
Harmony Play therapy offers a gentle, developmentally appropriate way for children to explore feelings, make sense of their experiences, and build confidence.
Because it doesn’t rely on talking, it’s especially helpful for children who find it hard to express themselves with words, helping them feel more settled emotionally, behaviourally, and in their relationships.
Play Therapy is helpful for children experiencing big emotions and big behaviours, neurodivergence, or trauma.

Distinguished and Famous people from Maroondah

🎵 Dame Nellie Melba

Nellie Melba’s connection with Heathmont is preserved in the former Melba Hall on Exeter Road. She agreed to have the public hall named in her honour and officially opened it in July 1927. The heritage record identifies at least two visits before her death in 1931. This was a specific local engagement by an internationally celebrated opera singer, within a wider family association with the old Shire of Lillydale. A hall opening may seem modest beside an operatic triumph, but it brought that famous public voice into the community’s own social and cultural life.

🏃 Cathy Freeman

Cathy Freeman is among the Olympic representatives associated with Ringwood Athletic Club. Her international career included 400-metre silver at Atlanta in 1996 and gold at Sydney in 2000, where she also lit the Olympic cauldron. Ringwood’s place in her biography is through club athletics, part of the organised training and competition behind those widely remembered nights. The club has supported athletes from beginners to international competitors since 1961.

📐 Frederick Romberg

Frederick Romberg’s architectural work at Luther College, Croydon, appears in his biography among projects exploring courtyard plans and familiar elements such as verandahs. Trained in Switzerland, he brought European modernism to Australian practice while adapting it to local conditions. His other work ranged from apartment buildings and factories to university facilities, and he later became Newcastle’s foundation professor of architecture. Croydon’s connection is a named professional commission, not a claim that he lived in the suburb. The college project gives the region a specific place within a career concerned with how useful, well-built spaces could also respond to their setting.
